The company is located near Denver, Colorado. As of 2021, Norstar operates over 80 oil and gas wells and is an active driller in Kansas and Nebraska. Norstar and its affiliated companies also have non-operated interests in another 250 wells in Kansas and Oklahoma. Norstar started out as an acquisition and enhanced recovery company. It began participating in drilling opportunities in 2001 and has gradually increased activity since becoming an active operator in Kansas in 2005. More recently, Norstar became an operator in the Nebraska panhandle. The company has previously drilled or participated in wells in Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio.
